Until more recent years no Bulldog nose GM locomotives operated in Sweden. However, several
Swedish private railway companies bought some Class MX and MY locomotives directly from the
Danish DSB state railways or from other Swedish private railway companies.
The following companies use these locomotives:
Bantåg Nordic AB
Bantåg i Dalarna AB bought the TMX 1015 (ex-DSB MX 1015; now in yellow livery) of IBAB in early 2003. It is used as work
train traction between Umea and Gällivare, out of Vännäs. In November 2004 open access railway company
RailCare Group bought Bantåg along with the locomotive.
The Bantåg fleet was extented with the purchase of MY 1040 of the Norwegian GM-Gruppen as spares in the end of 2005.
BK Tåg Sverige AB (Inlandsgods since 7 November 2006)
operates the following freight train services:
On saturday Inlandsgods rides a weekly container train from Göteborg harbour via Kristianstad to Åhus (Skåne) topped
by an old Ma electric locomotive and tailed by a Nohab. These containertrains haul vodka. The Absolut Vodka is
manufactured in Åhus and then transported to Göteborg for shipping worldwide.
VänerExpressen-container service Karlstad - Göteborg (five roundtrips per week).
Sawn timber products (in containers) service from Avesta Krylbo to Göteborg (twice weekly).
Wood service from Kristinehamn to Halden (N) (twice weekly).
In March 2000 BK Tåg Sverige AB took over BSM Järnväg AB (BSM) and its locomotives.
Owns:
TMX 1042 (ex-DSB MX 1042) in BK Tåg light blue livery with white stripe, currently stands with a defect in Göteborg;
ex-BSM TMX 1012 (ex-DSB MX 1012) in BSM red/black/yellow livery; currently stands unused in the workshop in Vetlanda.
ex-BSM TMX 1027 (ex-DSB MX 1027; in BSX Tåg red livery) as spare parts donor in Mockfjärd;
and ex-BSM MY 1141 (ex-DSB MY 1141; in DSB red/black livery) as spare parts donor in Kristinehamn.
Inlandsbanan AB (IBAB)
Owns:
IBAB TMX 1013 (ex-DSB MX 1013), operational in 'Grand Nordic' blue livery;
IBAB TMX 1014 (ex-DSB MX 1014), operational in IBAB red livery (currently hired to Inlandsgods);
IBAB TMX 1016 (ex-DSB MX 1016). operational 'Grand Nordic' blue livery.
All three locomotives have been put up for sale early September 2004. However, IBAB TMX 1016 and 1013 as well as
some coaches have received a nice blue paint job with stylish 'Grand Nordic' logos for charter train use.
Also in 2005 Inlandsbana provided the Östersund - Mora and the Östersund - Gällivare tourist trains over the 'Inlandsbanen'
route, sometimes with IBAB TMX Nohab traction.
Inlandsgods AB
was in receivorship mid 2003. It was taken over by Härjelast AB (owned by some 60 trucking companies and truckers).
It operates log and woodchip/peat briquettes trains (the latter using sea containers) from
Mora to Sveg (on the Inlandsbanan), Katrinaholm and Uppsala. Other transports are paper to Borlänge and wood from the inlands of North-Sweden
to paper mills at the coast. This is done on an irregular basis with facultativ and extra trains with two hired GM units from IBAB and
TMY 1132 (ex-DSB MY 1132 in a new white/red stripe livery of Inlandsgods, this locomotive has been bought
by Inlandsgods from Tågab in January 2002). In 2004 Inlandsgods bought TMY 105 (ex-DSB MY 1113) from Tågab which is in Tågab silver with red stripes livery.
In July 2004 Inlandsgods bought the MY 1150, 1156 and 1157 from TGOJ. The Inlandsgods depot is situated in Mora.
Motala Verkstad
TMY 1110, TMY 1124, TMY 1132 were bought by Motala Verkstad (Motala, S) in 2004.
In October 2005 Motala also bought TMY 1122 and TMY 1134 out of the Skånetåg Bulk AB bankruptcy.
They are still in TBL white/red cabins livery. They are used for transporting road salt from the harbours in Åhus (S)
and Göteborg (S) to various depots in southern Sweden for the Produktion department of
Vågverket, the Swedish state road company.
The locomotives are usually located in Kristinehamn (S).
Skånetåg Bulk AB (bankrupt)
The Swedish company Skånetåg Bulk AB bought PBS MY 1124 (without motor as spare parts donor, DSB red/black livery)
and TBL MY 1110 (white/blue cabins livery), MY 1122 (TBL white/red cabins livery) and MY 1134 (TBL white/red cabins
livery) in January 2003. On top of that Skånetåg bought TMX 1024 (ex-DSB MX 1024, ex-BSM TMX 1024) from BK Tåg in 2003.
It is in the light blue BK Tåg livery with a white stripe. On Sunday 15 June 2003 the TMX 1024 was seen in use by Skånetåg on head of a timber
train in Hässleholm from 11:40 to 12:20 hours (it departed in the direction of Nässjö). This wood traffic is now
carried out by Inlandsgods as Skånetåg went bankrupt in April 2004. TMY 1122 and TMY 1134 were sold to Motala in October 2005.
Projsoft AB
This Stockholm based company bought M 34 (ex-DSB MX 1031), 35 (ex-DSB MX 1033) and 37 (ex-DSB MX 1004) from the Danish
Lollandsbanen which did not have work for them any more. It is believed the locomotives will be rented out.
Svensk Tågteknik AB (STT)
In October 2004 Swedish Train Technology (STT) has taken over
from mother company BK Tåg locomotive TMY 1111 (ex-DSB MY 1111). STT overhauled the locomotive in an eco-friendly
locomotive project. The locomotive got a new Cummins diesel motor and a new (STT) livery:
dark green around the windshields, the rest light green/yellow and silver.
Tågåkeriet i Bergslagen AB (Tågab)
operates freight trains ordered by SJ from Kristinahamn to Hällefors (via Daglösen) and to
Filipstad with not only the GM units, but also with Swedish T43 and Z65 locomotives and even a Danish TMZ locomotive.
Owns:
Tågab TMY 101 (ex-DSB MY 1121) in Tågab silver with red stripes livery;

Tågab TMY 103 (ex-DSB MY 1123) in Tågab silver with red stripes livery;
Tågab TMX 104 (ex-DSB MX 1021) in DSB grafitti livery (the side windows were replaced for the square ones of the
electric Rc-locomotives);
Tågab TMY 106 (ex-DSB MY 1108) in the Great Northern Railroad (USA) green/orange livery (was used for feature in the film "Dancer in the Dark");
ex-DSB MX 1028 (in BSM red livery at Kristinehamn), ex-DSB MY 1118 (in DSB red/black livery at Kristinehamn) and ex-NSB Di3 605 (in NSB red livery at
Daglösen in the shed) are spare parts donors. The ex-DSB MX 1032 (in BSM red livery) was already demolished in 2000;
ex-DSB MY 1105 (in DSB red/black livery), bought from DSB in 2003 and transported to Sweden on 18/19 November 2003.
Early September 2004 Tågab has put three TMY locomotives for sale: two in operable condition and one
as spare parts donor. The TMY 106 'Dancer in the Dark' is one of the operable locomotives. The other operable locomotive was the TMY 105 (ex-DSB MY 1113) which
was sold to Inlandsgods.

TGOJ
This SJ daughter company bought MY 1150 (now in Kristinehamn, Sweden; red/black DSB livery),
MY 1156 (now in Padborg, Denmark; in DSB red/black livery) and MY 1157 (now at Uppsala, Sweden; in DSB red/black livery) from TraXion A/S in April 2003.
The MY 1150 and MY 1157 were transported from Padborg to Sweden on 26 April 2003. The MY 1156 currently stays in Padborg,
because it needs repair of one of the bogies before it can be transferred to its new owner. In July 2004 TGOJ sold the MY 1150, 1156 and 1157 to
the Swedish Inlandsgods AB.
