Strabag only uses its remaining operational roundnoses for its twice weekly ballast trains between Haldensleben and Leer. Some are rented to other companies for infrastructure trains.
The current locations (status of 22 July 2010) of the ten Strabag Rail GmbH (D) owned V170 Nohabs in Germany:
V170 1125 (ex-DSB MY 1125; NoHAB 2366/1957, REV 12-12-1998) has a Santa Fe livery

is currently busy with the Lederhose - Neumarkt/Oberpfalz 1,700 tonnes ballast trains from Niederpöllnitz Anst Lederhose (on property of the TABEG Tanklagerbetriebsgesellschaft mbH) via Weida, Hof and Nürnberg to Neumarkt (Oberpfalz) Agl. Bögl. On the Frankenwaldrampe (incline) the train gets a rear helper also in the form of a V170 roundnose. The empty trains run back via Bamberg and Saalfeld. The operating days are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The loco is also used for the ballast trains between Flechtingen and Wahlstedt;
V170 1127 (ex-DSB MY 1127; NoHAB 2368/1957, REV 30-08-1995) in silver with blue cabins livery:
was spare parts donor for the overhaul of the V170 1155 mid 2007 and has been sold to Michael Frick in 2010;

currently stands at Haldensleben;
